Qatar welcomes GCC leaders

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani is set to meet leaders of the GCC countries upon their arrival today in Doha to participate in the GCC summit.
The State of Qatar will host the 35th session of the GCC Supreme Council from December 9-10.
Since its the GCC has been able to complete several joint projects, in addition to the development of co-ordination, co-operation and integration in all fields amid the aspirations and hopes of GCC’s citizens for greater achievements.
The GCC leaders have sought through their meetings and consultations to strengthen GCC’s foundations to achieve the ambitions and aspirations of its people and citizens through their generous support.
Arab League Secretary-General Dr. Nabil al-Arabi stressed yesterday on the importance of the 35th GCC summit.
He said that the summit gains prominence in light of the developments and dangerous challenges facing the region.
In a statement yesterday, the Secretary-General praised the GCC’s efforts for trying to regain Arab solidarity.
Meanwhile, Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs DrMongiHamidi stressed the importance of the GCC summit, saying it is a leap in the GCC relationships.
The Tunisian minister expressed his country’s pleasure for the breakthrough in the GCC relations and described Tunisia’s relations with Qatar as almost strategic, praising Qatar’s position and assistance in supporting the Tunisian people.
